L'hôtel de ville a été inauguré en 1950 pour les 900 ans d'Oslo. Vu du fjord (comme d'un peu partout), il s'impose avec ses deux tours massives. C'est le centre politique et administratif de la ville.
C'est dans le hall de ce bâtiment particulier qu'est décerné le prix Nobel de la Paix les 10 Décembre.
L'intérieur du bâtiment est décoré avec des peintures liées à l'Histoire de Norvège, sa culture et son mode de vie. Vous retrouvez dans ces quelques salles (à accès gratuit au public), des fresques immenses, du sol au haut plafond, des tableaux des rois et des reines, des cadeaux offerts par des pays amis, et même les mascottes des derniers Jeux Olympiques d'Hiver d'Oslo.
Les 49 cloches du carillons jouent toutes les heures.

The city hall was inaugurated in 1950 for 900 years old of Oslo. Seen by the fjord (as of almost everywhere), it stands out with its two massive towers. It is the political and administrative center of the city.
It is in the hall of this particular building that is awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on December 10th.
The inside of the building is decorated with paintings about the History of Norway, its culture and its lifestyle. You find in these few rooms (to free access to the public), immense frescoes, from the ground to the high ceiling, paintings of kings and queens, presents offered by friendly countries, and even mascots of the last Winter Olympics Games of Oslo.
49-bells of carillons play every hour.
